Neighbors upset over alleged illegal dump site near Beaman Park

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Next to a Nashville park lies a dumping site that’s potentially not just an eyesore – one neighbor believes it’s an environmental hazard.

The Tennessee Riverkeeper agreed and filed a lawsuit against the site’s owner earlier this month, alleging muddy runoff and debris aren’t being contained.

”Sedimentation and muddy water may not seem like it’s a big problem, but too much of that in a watershed and creeks and rivers can diminish or completely eliminate the oxygen levels in the water,” Tennessee Riverkeeper founder David Whiteside said.
